John Garwood attended on behalf of TFGA, the 90th Anniversary Cocktail Party of Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) at the Launceston Club on the evening of 13th of December 2018.
RFDS Australia is now 90 Years old.
It was great to hear about the recent activity of the RFDS in Tasmania and its increasing impact on improving the health of regional and rural communities as presented by CEO John Kirwan.
In particular, the initiatives around dental health and addressing mental health issues are inspirational in terms of their achievements.
The occasion was made even more significant by the presentation of a 30 years service award to Captain Stan Griffiths, a very experienced pilot with RFDS. Stan has served 9 years based at Broken Hill and 21 based in Launceston.
Congratulations to RFDS on all their achievements and the outstanding work they do for regional and rural communities.
