electronic National Vendor Declarations (eNVD)

The strengthening of LPA was developed by the red meat industry and was launched on 1 October 2017. It involved the introduction of biosecurity and animal welfare requirements, a regular online assessment and online learning modules to support producer understanding of their on-farm requirements. The changes were launched to coincide with the further roll-out of electronic National Vendor Declarations (eNVD), giving producers the option to replace their NVD books with a free automated online system.  Click here for further information.

TFGA has received concerns regarding not being able to sign the eNVD. MLA states the following regarding eNVD signatures.

A signature field has been made available on the eNVD because it enables producers to:

  • Submit fully completed electronic NVD/Waybills to supply chains that are operationally ready to retrieve NVD/Waybill records electronically.
  • Retain electronic records of their fully completed NVD/Waybills for audit and reference purposes.

It is not mandatory for producers to include an electronic signature on the eNVD. Producers have the option to print the NVD/Waybill and sign the printed document.

Enhancements will be included shortly to further improve this feature. This may include the ability to reuse a previously uploaded signature, and a simple signature creation tool to assist producers to generate electronic signatures. In the meantime, if you would like to create an electronic signature, there are some freely available signature generators on the Internet (e.g. www.mylivesignature.com, and www.signature-maker.net).

If you have any feedback on this feature or suggestions on how the eNVD system may be improved, please email lpa@mla.com.au
