TFGA's response to the budget

The announcements today in the State Budget have been welcomed by the TFGA. “Agriculture has been a winner in today's State Budget,” said Peter Skillern CEO.
“Commitments to irrigation infrastructure are crucial to the ongoing success of the sector and today's commitment of $70 million is a significant step in the right direction,” Mr Skillern said.
“The funding commitment to address concerns with quad bike safety is to be highly commended. This has been an area of concern for some time, we look forward to working with the Government in addressing this key issue’ Mr Skillern said.
“Further funding for Biosecurity shows an additional investment in an area that the TFGA has advocated for over many years. We welcome the acknowledgment and the Minister's genuine commitment to protecting Tasmanian agriculture’ said Mr Skillern.
