TFGA congratulates re-elected Government

The State’s peak farming organisation has congratulated the Hodgman Liberal Government on its re-election.

Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association CEO Peter Skillern said that the organisation looked forward to working with the new government on the implementation of its commitments to agriculture.

“Specifically, the TFGA anticipates a quick response to commitments such as $70 million to the third tranche of irrigation schemes; $35 million to agricultural research and innovation; and $7 million to modernise our Crown and TIA Research farm assets,’’ Mr Skillern said.

“The TFGA now awaits the announcement from the Premier in relation to his Cabinet and ministerial responsibilities, and we will be seeking early conversations with those in charge of relevant portfolios.”
