Snail Incursion

After consultation with Biosecurity Tasmania the TFGA is very comfortable with both its response and the co-operation of the supermarkets, in relation to a minor incursion of green snails from Western Australia.

All imports of Western Australian strawberries to Tasmania have now been halted.

“This episode highlights the very effective detection process of Biosecurity Tasmania, and they are to be commended for their excellent work in safeguarding agriculture in Tasmania,” TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said.
