NHVR delay a welcome first step

The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) has welcomed the news that the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has delayed the implementation of its new Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws until October 1.

“As Tasmania’s leading advocacy group, the TFGA is proud to have initiated this decision, having campaigned hard on the issue since January,” TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said.

“While the three-month delay is welcome, we look forward to the State Government abiding by its commitment to implement a 12-month delay to these regulations and, further to that, an exemption if agreement cannot be reached within the agricultural sector.”
