Irrigation funding announcement welcomed

The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) has welcomed the announcement by the State Government today regarding funding for the Swan Valley Irrigation Scheme.
“This will be another step towards increasing agricultural production in the State,’’ TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said.
“It is also most encouraging to see a further $1.78 million in funding announced for irrigation investigation in Tasmania. This is an important initiative, which will allow areas that are currently not irrigated to undertake feasibility studies.”
