The AFI Australian Agriculture Roundtable will be just one of many events held during Ag and Rural Focus Week.
The Roundtable provides an opportunity to participate in policy discussions that will have a substantive impact on farmers, farm businesses and the sector as a whole. This year, the conference theme centres on when 'Evidence Meets Emotion'.
Farm practices are increasingly being determined by policy development which excludes agricultural voices. In a world of misinformation it is more important than ever that farmers and regional people are proactive on and involved in the issues facing the agriculture sector. The day’s sessions on animal welfare, environmental policy, community trust and agricultural statistics will run from 9 am – 5 pm. This will be followed directly by 'The Right to Farm' - After Hours Forum from 6 pm – 10 pm, which includes food, cocktails and time for networking along with the topic discussion featuring the winner of the 2018 John Ralph Essay Competition, the Farmer of the Year and Agriculture Minister David Littleproud.
