A large proportion of the activity undertake by the TFGA in the area of policy is focused at a State level. However, from time to time there are policy and legislation initiatives driven from a national level that impact on the Tasmanian agriculture sector. For instance Climate Change and the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Act.
Through its affiliation with the National Farmers Federation, the TFGA puts the views of our members that relate to national policy and legislation forward. The usual method by which this occurs is a joint submission with the National Famers Federation.
