TFGA has a number of membership categories:

Full Members

Associate Members

Student Members

Corporate Members

Becoming a member of the TFGA is easy.  You simply need to complete the relevant application form and return it to TFGA for processing.  Application forms can be downloaded from this page or the Publications & Forms section, or simply call the TFGA office on 1800 154 111.

Through your support, we are able to broaden our membership base and in turn provide Tasmanian farmers with a stronger and more effective voice both at a state and national level. Your membership will help to ensure that farmers are heard, whatever the issue. 

TFGA is committed to ensuring that Tasmania has a viable and sustainable agricultural industry for years to come, so membership of TFGA is an investment in the future of your industry.

Full Members

To be eligible for full membership of the TFGA, you must be engaged in a primary industry business and must pay the required levies. The TFGA operates a point of sale levy system, that is your levy is deducted at the time of transaction. The point of sale levies for the major commodities are:

Meat 40 cents per $100
Wool 45 cents per $100
Vegetables 53 cents per $100
Cereals 40 cents per $100
Seed 20 cents per bag
Dairy 0.08 cents per litre

Full members are eligible to vote, nominate and be nominated for the Board and Commodity Councils and receive all other benefits, including FarmCard.

 IMPORTANT NOTE – a minimum contribution fee of $337.00 is payable to be a member of TFGA

Associate Members

Associate members are persons who have a general interest in primary industry and are not eligible for membership under another category.

The current annual subscription for associate membership is $220 (incl GST).

Associate members recieve copies of TFGA newsletters, including our Primary Focus magazine and annual reports, to stay abreast of issues affecting the industry.

Student Members

To be eligible for student membership of the TFGA, you must be undertaking secondary, post-secondary or tertiary studies on a full-time basis. 

The current annual subscription for student membership is $55 (incl GST).

Student members receive an information kit from the TFGA and are kept abreast of opportunities such as TFGA's Working in Wool, Cropping a Career and Taste of Dairying programs.

Corporate Members

This category is for businesses that want to support Tasmania's primary producers through membership of the TFGA. 

The current annual subscription for corporate members is $550 (incl GST).

Corporate members receive regular information on TFGA's activities and issues affecting our members as well as invitation to functions and events that provide excellent networking opportunities.
