| The TFGA entered
into an arrangement with the Institute of TAFE Tasmania
(Natural Resources - Agriculture - Burnie) and as part of this arrangement, TAFE will now
provide all secretariat services in relation to ChemCert,
including reaccreditation.
This arrangement will ensure that the needs of TFGA
members in relation to ChemCert are met, following the
cessation of operations by Rural Industry Training &
Education Tasmania Inc (RITE) in July 2004. TFGA will continue
to represent the interests of its members on the ChemCert
Tasmania Board.
Anyone requiring ChemCert training or information should
contact TAFE Burnie on 1300 655 307.
All persons with ChemCert certificates that expire
after 1 June 2005 will be contacted by TAFE. Certificate
holders who have certificates expiring prior to 1 June
2005, should contact Norm
Wells at TAFE on (03) 6434 5708 for reaccreditation
information.
ChemCert Training will be conducted in accordance with
the new National Agriculture Training package and will
be conducted at Level III over two days and will require
an "on-the-job" practical assessment. Total
cost will remain at $375 per participant.
Reaccreditation can be achieved either by sitting in
on a commercial ChemCert course or by completing the
self-paced learning package plus an "on-the-job"
practical assessment. Total cost of reaccreditation
will remain at $250 per participant.
AgVet and Aluminium Phosphide training endorsements may be conducted in conjunction with commercial courses - subject to demand - at no extra cost. Aluminium Phosphide specific courses will cost $100 per person.
ChemCert training will be centred in Burnie, Launceston and Hobart (subject to demand).
Remember, anyone requiring ChemCert training or information should contact TAFE Burnie on 1300 655 307.
