Commodity Overview
The red meat industry is a vital part of the Tasmanian economy,
with a farm gate value of around $170 million, with $140 million
from the sale of cattle and the balance from sheep and lamb.
The TFGA Meat Council represents the interests of this important
agricultural sector.
In addition to representing the interests of its members,
TFGA Meat Council also aims to:
provide leadership for Tasmanian red meat producers;
encourage education and personal development; and
improve production systems.
